The Rust Foundation is coming to the end of its current three year strategy. Our first three years have focused on building an organisation capable of supporting and stewarding the Rust Programming Language, ensuring that we have invested in stabilising key functions such as infrastructure and security, and ensuring that we are a well-run organisation meeting all of our legal and financial obligations.
We are now in the process of developing our next three year strategy, to run from January 2026 - December 2028.
In developing this strategy, we want to ensure that we are aligned with the Rust Project’s Vision Doc, the needs of the global Rust community, and our corporate stakeholders. We want to know what is important to the individuals and industries that we serve, so that we can build that into our strategic planning.
Why do we have a multi-year strategy?
An organizational strategy is a high-level document that provides an overview of where we want to be as an organization, what our priorities are, and what our values are. This document provides an overarching narrative that helps our stakeholders understand our direction of travel, and why we invest and prioritize in certain areas. It also enables us to coherently outline why we need financial support, and how that support can contribute to high-impact outcomes.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts.
