2025 SCWA Summer Series Presenter Sign-Up
In 2025, SCWA will again host the weekly Summer Series via Zoom. Here are the weeks and some topic suggestions. Please sign up below if you're interested in leading one session. The leader's job is to provide content on the topic and facilitate discussion around it. These are NOT lecture meetings, but rather topical discussions with examples curated by the presenter.

June 3 - Aug 5 (10 classes at noon on Tuesdays via zoom; zoom room link will remain consistent)

Potential topics:

Dialogue | Plotting and character arcs | Pacing and tension | Alliteration and rhythm (poetry) | World building – fantasy and sci fi | Suspense, clues, and foreshadowing in mystery novels | Marketing your book:– find your audience, basics, email newsletter, website | Marketing your book: – social media, giveaways, contests, etc. | Non-fiction book proposals / memoir queries | Submitting Short Fiction | Submitting Poetry | Write-In or Scheduled Writing Sprints | Writing a Synopsis | Using Metaphor & Simile Effectively | Adjectives & Adverbs
